Health Department Brings Narcan Training to Library Tuesday

HOPKINTON — The Hopkinton Health Department will host a Narcan training and community harm reduction session at Hopkinton Public Library on Tuesday, August 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., pairing the town's substance-misuse prevention work with the library's meeting space for the first time this week.

TOWN HALL The Health Department's session, billed as "Narcan Training and Community Harm Reduction," will run in the library's Ellsworth Conference Room. It is part of the town's broader substance misuse resources effort, which the town lists alongside its mental health and needs-based assistance programs on the municipal website.

COMMUNITY & ARTS Hopkinton Public Library's Summer Reading program is entering its final stretch. Saturday, August 9, was the last day for participants to log their reading, and the library says tickets earned through the program can still be claimed and entered for book prizes through Friday, August 14, with winners drawn and notified August 18. The library continues to run its Church Street entrance as the sole accessible way in while Main Street construction continues nearby.

COMING UP The library has a full slate of activity on Tuesday, August 11: Drop-In CreatorSpace Hours for teens run 3 to 5 p.m., a second Drop-In CreatorSpace session for all ages follows from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the Board of Library Trustees meets from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Betty Strong Room. Summer Reading ticket redemption closes August 14, with winners announced August 18.
