Hopkinton Library Lines Up Teen Programs and Outreach Visits for Early July

The last weekend of June arrives with no urgent town-hall action and a light commercial-news cycle, leaving residents a moment to catch up on what's ahead at the library and plan for the July 4 holiday.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Hopkinton Public Library has a full stretch of programming lined up for the coming days. On Sunday, June 29, the YA CreatorSpace Crafternoon runs from 3 to 5 p.m. in the CreatorSpace classroom — a drop-in option for teens looking for something creative to do before the holiday week. Monday, June 30 brings two events: the Magic: the Gathering Club meets from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Children's Programming Room, and the Board of Library Trustees holds its regular meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Ellsworth Conference Room.

Into July, the library is scheduled to visit Fairview Estates on Tuesday, July 1, for an off-site outreach session from 10 a.m. to noon, and a Quarterly Library Volunteer Interest Orientation is set for 4 p.m. that same day in the Betty Strong Room. Teens can close out the evening with an Anime Movie Night, also July 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Betty Strong Room.

Library Director Nanci Hill's Guest Librarian feature this month spotlights Ian Richardson, the Administrative Assistant for the Town Clerk and Human Resources offices, and his fiancé Ashleigh — both horror-fiction fans whose reading list is now available on the library website. Residents interested in being a future guest librarian can reach Hill at nhill@hopkintonma.gov.

A reminder from the library: Sunday hours are suspended for the summer. The building is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed Sundays through Labor Day.
