Hopkinton Posts Advisory on Spotted Lanternfly Sightings

HOPKINTON — Hopkinton's town website added a new notice Wednesday titled "Spotted Lanternfly," flagging the invasive, tree-damaging insect that has been spreading across Massachusetts, while the Hopkinton Public Library rounded out its week with a run of dated programs for both adults and young children.

The town posted a News Flash item Wednesday, Aug. 26, titled "Spotted Lanternfly." The posting did not include further detail in its preview; residents looking for identification tips or reporting guidance should check the full notice on the town's website.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Hopkinton Public Library's virtual series continues Thursday, Aug. 27, from 2 to 3 p.m. with "High Altitudes and High Stakes," open to remote attendees. The library's Children's Programming Room also has Drop-In Board Games set for 4 to 5 p.m. that same day.

COMING UP

The library's Children's Programming Room hosts Babytime at 9:15 a.m. and Little Explorers at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28. Drop-in Family Activities run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, in the Children's Department.
