Library Adds Tower Hill Houseplant Program for Kids Next Week

HOPKINTON — Hopkinton Public Library is adding a new children's program to next week's calendar — a partnership with Tower Hill Botanic Garden on caring for houseplants — while the library's Main Street entrance is set to reopen this week after weeks of construction-related closure.

"Kids: Happy Houseplants with Tower Hill" runs from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, in the Betty Strong Room, giving young patrons a hands-on lesson from the Boylston-based garden on keeping plants alive at home.

The library's Main Street entrance, closed since July 15 for work tied to the town's Main Street Corridor Project, is expected to reopen this week. Patrons have been directed to the Church Street entrance during the closure; the library has pointed residents to the town's project website for the latest updates on the corridor work.

Summer reading participants have until August 9 to log their reading hours. Tickets and prize entries must be claimed by August 14, with winners drawn and notified August 18.

COMING UP

Monday, July 27: CreatorSpace hosts drop-in drawing from 10 a.m. to noon, a YA Crafternoon from 3 to 5 p.m., and general drop-in CreatorSpace hours from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 28: Baby & Toddler Storytime runs 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the Children's Programming Room. A previously scheduled YA Model Kit Workshop that day has been canceled.
