Library Hosts Mario Kart Tournament, D&D Night for Teens

HOPKINTON — Wednesday brought a full slate of summer programming at the Hopkinton Public Library, including a Mario Kart tournament for middle schoolers and a Dungeons & Dragons session for teens, while town hall's public-facing news feed stayed quiet ahead of upcoming budget and building projects.

The Hopkinton Public Library packed its Wednesday schedule with programming for every age group. Preschoolers gathered for "Preschool Storytellers" in the morning, followed by a Mario Kart Tournament for grades 5-9 in the Betty Strong Room, a Kids Crafternoon in the afternoon, and a Young Adult Dungeons & Dragons session in the evening. The library's "Read to a Therapy Dog" session scheduled for Wednesday evening was canceled.

The library also continues to spotlight staff picks through its Guest Librarian series, with a July 2026 installment now live on the library's website following June's contribution from Ian Richardson, an administrative assistant for the Town Clerk's office and Human Resources, who shared horror recommendations with his fiancé Ashleigh. Residents interested in serving as a future Guest Librarian can contact Library Director Nanci Hill. Looking toward the weekend, Lego & Pokémon Club is set for Thursday afternoon in the Betty Strong Room.
