Library Reroutes Patrons to Church Street Amid Main Street Work

HOPKINTON — The Main Street entrance to Hopkinton Public Library remains closed through Saturday because of ongoing work on the town's Main Street Corridor Project, with the library directing patrons to the Church Street entrance in the meantime. The disruption comes as the library rolls out a run of summer programming, including a new America 250th-anniversary craft workshop this week.

Hopkinton Public Library's Main Street entrance has been closed since Wednesday, July 15, and is scheduled to reopen Saturday, July 25, because of construction tied to the town's Main Street Corridor Project. The library has asked visitors to use the Church Street entrance for the duration and pointed residents to the town's project website for further updates on the corridor work.

The library is also running its summer slate under extended weekday hours (9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, closed Sundays through Labor Day), with a new "250th: DIY Declarations" program set for this week tying into the town's America 250th anniversary observance.

COMING UP

The library's "250th: DIY Declarations" program runs Monday, July 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Betty Strong Room, alongside a CreatorSpace drop-in drawing session that morning and a young-adult CreatorSpace "Crafternoon" that afternoon. The traveling Whalemobile program visits Tuesday, July 21, at 2 p.m. in the Betty Strong Room, following the library's Baby & Toddler Storytime that morning. The Main Street entrance closure is set to lift Saturday, July 25.
