Town Holds Public Meeting On Hazard Mitigation Plan
Town officials hosted a public meeting Tuesday on Hopkinton's Hazard Mitigation Plan, while the Hopkinton Public Library reminded residents that summer reading deadlines are approaching this month.
TOWN HALL
The town held a public meeting on its Hazard Mitigation Plan Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m., part of an ongoing planning process aimed at identifying risks from flooding, severe weather, and other hazards and outlining strategies to reduce their impact. The plan update follows other recent town initiatives, including the Elmwood School Study survey of resident interest and continued work on the Main Street Corridor Project, which has closed the library's Main Street entrance during construction.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Hopkinton Public Library continues its summer reading program, with several deadlines approaching this month: readers have until August 9 to log their reading, until August 14 to claim or enter tickets for book prizes, and winners will be drawn and notified August 18. The library's Main Street entrance remains closed for the duration of the Main Street Corridor Project construction, with patrons directed to use the Church Street entrance instead; the parking lot remains open.
The library also continues its summer programming schedule, including Preschool Storytellers, Kids Crafternoon, a youth Dungeons & Dragons session, and Read to a Therapy Dog, all held Wednesday, plus Drop-In CreatorSpace Hours Thursday afternoon.
