Planning Board · Meeting of October 20, 2026

Hopkinton's Planning Board continued hearings on a 13-unit Claflin Street housing project after raising zoning concerns. The board voted 6-0, with member Elise Mieloski recused as an abutter, to push the Capital Group Properties hearing on 14 Main Street and 10 Walcott Street to November 16 and extend the stormwater permit deadline to November 30. Chair Matthew Wronka and member Rob Benson questioned whether the project meets residential setback rules and whether a requested parking waiver is consistent with the applicant's claim the project is multifamily, not mixed-use; Benson said "you can't have the best of both." Residents Sarah Brophy and Bernie Mitchell, of Claflin Street, raised concerns about trash-truck access on the narrow road.

In other business, the board unanimously approved a scenic-road tree mitigation permit at 147 Ash Street and a site plan amendment converting storage to office space at 87 Hayden Road Street.
