Hopkinton Annual Town Meeting Set for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 2

HOPKINTON — March 5, 2026 — Hopkinton sets its 2026 Annual Town Meeting for 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. The five-member board voted 5-0 on a roll-call vote to approve the start time, following a brief discussion about contingency planning if the meeting requires a second session. Member Brian Herr asked whether a spillover date would fall on a Sunday or the following Saturday; town officials said no consecutive-day requirement exists under current rules and that a recommended backup date will be identified before the meeting. Select Board Chair Joe Clark, speaking separately at a Hopkinton Women's Club appearance highlighted in the same broadcast, said the FY27 budget is on track to be balanced without a Proposition 2½ override, noting "almost a half of the departments" have already presented their budgets to the board.
