Conservation · Meeting of September 16, 2026

Hopkinton's Conservation Commission lifted a cease-and-desist order at 30 West Main while issuing a new enforcement order tied to a certified arborist's report. Conservation Administrator Judy Day said staff found disrepaired erosion controls and tree damage during an August 20 inspection; civil engineer Sam Alfranti of Soli Engineering told the commission erosion controls have since been restored and held through recent rain. The commission set an October 27 deadline for the arborist report, ahead of a planned November 3 review.

Member Ted Barker-Hook, after pushing for an earlier date, conceded: "I feel like that's not the hill I want to die on, so fine." The commission also approved, 4-0, a revised restoration plan for the town's Charleswood School stormwater site and renewed its peer-review contract with Lucas Environmental, raising the hourly rate from $120 to $130.
